Exposure Modelling
The development of accurate scenarios is an essential prerequisite for risk assessment. The calculation of predicted environmental concentration (PEC) values for plant protection products, biocides, veterinary medicines and general chemicals in groundwater, surface water and soil is necessary, or will be necessary, for registration of chemicals in Europe.
CEA has experience and expertise with a wide range of models and databases to assist in the registration of chemicals at the European and Member State level. Our skill base ranges from the preparation of standardised regulatory exposure modelling to the development of bespoke software. We work with our colleagues in environmental fate and ecological groups, and our clients, to develop strong and compelling modelling frameworks to support their chemicals through various registration processes. We have expertise in geographical information systems and landscape risk assessments for modelling exposure of nutrients and chemicals in rural and urban environments.
The combination of our regulatory and technical expertise ensures the best evaluation of available chemical information and it's contextualisation into meaningful exposure modelling solutions.
